You might enjoy practicing some of your new body part words by singing the Hoke-Poke [Hóokeh-Póokeh] song in Valley Zapotec! (We assume you already know the tune, but if not, you can find recordings online.) There’s some new vocabulary at the end.

1. You’ve learned body part meanings of lany and lo; these words are also used to describe relationships, as with loo “in front of you” and lany rrued “into the circle”. You’ll learn more about this in Lecsyony Tseinyabchon.

2. You’ll learn more about REFLEXIVE “self” expressions like beinyses liu “shake yourself” and bcwa gwel liu “turn yourself” in Lecsyony Galyabchon.

3. And in Lecsyony Galyabtap you’ll learn about expressions like beinysesi “shake it”. For now, this is just something to notice!
