Cotto e mangiato. Corso di Italiano multiculturale – Volume I derivates from Voci: Corso elementare di lingua e culture italiane – Volume I, a free and open platform that was designed by Chiara Benetollo, Daria Bozzato, and Metello Mugnai (in collaboration with students Olivia Colace and Ava Panetto) and published on July 25, 2022. Voci served as the official textbook of the Department of Transnational Italian Studies for two academic years (AY 2022-23 and 2023-24), but it is no longer used at Bryn Mawr and Haverford Colleges. Cotto e mangiato is an evolution of that first project according to the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC-BY-NC).

We would like to acknowledge and thank the following: Benetollo, Bozzato, and Mugnai for their work; Haverford College and Bryn Mawr College for the generous support; Patricia Guardiola, Anna Lacy, and Norm Medeiros for handling the transition from Voci to Cotto e mangiato during the long and exciting summer of 2024 and for helping us to move forward in many ways.

Above all, we are extremely grateful to our former students Ava Panetto and Olivia Colace, who worked so hard to make the first volume (and the Moodle option) possible and whose perspective and advice were crucial to creating an inclusive and diverse textbook. Grazie!
